4th Annual Southwest Florida Birding & Wildlife Festival
January 18-20, 2008
Whether you are a birding expert or simply enjoy wildlife, don’t miss the Fourth Annual Southwest Florida Birding and Wildlife Festival at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. This event provides an excellent opportunity to learn about birds and the rich wildlife of this region. Presentations by bird and wildlife experts, as well as a host of activities relating to wildlife biology and conservation, will take place at the Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center January 18-20.
Presentations
Presentations for this year’s festival will be kicked off with a fabulous keynote address on Friday, January 18 at 7:00 pm, featuring Scott Wiedensaul. The noted author and naturalist will be presenting his latest book, Of a Feather, A Brief History of American Birding, and will also be available to sign copies of his book before and after the presentation. Books may be purchased at the time of the presentation.

Pre-registration is not required to attend presentations or activities; seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. A food vendor providing made-to-order sandwiches and refreshments will be on site during lunch hours throughout the weekend
Field Trips
A highlight of the festival is the opportunity to participate in Field Trips to 18 locations around the region, including Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Tigertail Beach/Sand Dollar Lagoon. Space on field trips is limited and pre-registration is required to participate

Cost: $20 for adults (3-day pass), $10 (single day admission) and free for kids 12 and under.
