PRESCRIBED BURNS AT ROOKERY BAY LAST WEEK

Prescribed Fire | News | Rookery Bay Research Reserve

Over the past week, Rookery Bay Research Reserve conducted three prescribed burns within Reserve boundaries. Prescribed fire helps resource managers protect native habitats and control exotic plants.

Prescribed fire is an important tool in land management. By getting rid of excess fuel, dead tree limbs and brush, it helps reduce “the fuel” that can create wildfires near populated areas.
