6th Annual Southwest Florida Nature Festival January 15-17, 2010
Whether you’re an avid bird watcher or simply enjoy wildlife, this event provides something for everyone. Guided field trips to area wildlife hotspots, an array of local wildlife programs, live birds of prey, and other scheduled programs will occur throughout the weekend. Highlights include ‘Estuary Soup!’ and other family fun activities, and the NEW bridge will be open for all to enjoy. |
Schedule of Presentations Space is available on first-come, first-served basis. Registration for presentations is not necessary.

Activities On-site activities are offered on Saturday and Sunday:
- Kids of all ages can enjoy family fun activities and programs, from dissecting owl pellets to examining bird beaks and feet
- A Native Plant sale
- Live raptors, including Paige the Bald Eagle returning from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey
- Optics table
- Raffle

Field Trips A highlight of the festival is the opportunity to participate in guided trips to 18 locations around the region, including Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Sand Dollar Lagoon, and the Ten Thousand Islands. Space on field trips is limited and pre-registration is required to participate. Field trip registration will open on November 1. Online registration will close at midnight on Wednesday, January 13. It is possible to register in person at the Environmental Learning Center or over the phone by calling 239-417-6310 ext. 401 up until the day before the scheduled trip date.
