ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality |
Overview This course is designed so you can learn how to get the most from using ArcGIS software in your workplace. This course teaches the range of functionality available in the software and the essential tools for working with GIS data. Students will gain practice using the ArcMap, ArcCatalog and ArcToolbox components of the software and basic data analysis using geoprocessing tools. Topics Covered
- Symbolizing categorical and quantitative data
- Labels and annotation
- Changing the coordinate system and map projection of a data layer
- Creating maps and using map templates
- Creating graphs and reports
- How and why to join or relate tables
- Editing spatial and attribute data
- Creating and editing geodatabases and feature classes
- Viewing, editing, importing and exporting metadata
- Geocoding addresses
- Use queries and geoprocessing tools to answer spatial questions
- Customizing the ArcGIS Desktop
Who Should Attend This course is for people that have taken ArcGIS Desktop I or have some experience using ESRI ArcGIS software. Cost $750 for most participants, $450 for DEP, and Edison College and Florida Gulf Coast University employees and students. Computer use, materials, breakfast and lunch is included.
